OPNET Technologies Files Registration Statement for Proposed Initial Public Offering

WASHINGTON, DC -- March 16, 2000 -- OPNET Technologies, Inc. today announced that it has filed a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission relating to the proposed initial public offering of its common stock. Morgan Stanley Dean Witter will lead the offering, managing an underwriting group that will include Robertson Stephens, and Friedman, Billings & Ramsey (FBR) .

OPNET provides intelligent network management software solutions that enable its customers to optimize the performance and maximize the availability of communications networks and networked applications. OPNET's suite of products, which are based on predictive simulation and a comprehensive understanding of network technology, advance network and application management beyond reactive problem identification and reporting to proactive problem resolution and avoidance.
