Represents strategic investment in IT application management technology
BETHESDA, MD – January 9, 2006 – OPNET Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: OPNT), a leading provider of management software for networks and applications, today announced the expansion of its R&D center located in Nashua, NH. The facility houses development related to OPNET’s Application Performance Management solutions. New strategic initiatives are planned to complement OPNET Panorama and Commander products, which are currently developed at the Nashua location. OPNET Panorama provides real-time performance analysis of large scale, multi-tier IT applications. OPNET Commander performs active application monitoring, alarming of service level issues, and application troubleshooting.
Alain J. Cohen, OPNET President and CTO, remarked, “Our New Hampshire development center will represent a significant R&D presence in New England.” Mr. Cohen, an alumnus of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, continued, “I’m pleased to see an expanded OPNET presence close to its ‘roots’ in the greater Boston area.”
OPNET established offices in southern New Hampshire with its acquisition of Altaworks Corp. in 2004. OPNET has additional R&D centers in Cary, NC, Gent, Belgium, and at its headquarters in Bethesda, MD.
